This project is informed by de Beavoir's famous position, that "one is not born, but rather becomes, a woman," which now extends into theories about gender and performativity. Drag, in its hyperbole, plays with the notion of performance, simultaneously blurring and contrasting binary assumptions of gender and identity. Drag performance is integral to queer community and history.
